Restoring the Metadata/ Data to the Salesforce Org

 
This article deals with the procedure for recovering the metadata/data to your respective Salesforce Org and provides information about the menu options that are available for restoring information in Vault.
 

A. Procedure

 
  • Login to Vault account.
     
  • Click Restore from the Vault dashboard page.
     
  • Select the Salesforce Org and click on Restore Now.
     
     
  • In the next screen, select the backup configuration for the selected Salesforce org. Click Get Details.
     
     
  • The list of backup that are run till date will be fetched. Next, select the backup from the list that will get restored.
     
     
  • Click either Full Restore or Selective Restore.
     
  • Full Restore: This option performs a full restoration from the selected backup file(s). Enter the Restore label name and click on "Restore Now" button to complete the restore operation.
     
     
  • Selective Restore: This option allows you to select specific metadata/data that will get restored only to the destination org. Select the components (including its members) from the list and click Trigger Restore.
     
     
  • You will be redirected to the Restore homepage which will show you the progress of the restore recently triggered.
     
     
  • Click on the "Restore Label" to view the list of metadata/data being restored to the org.
     
     
  • Click Export to save the restored metadata/data info in .CSV format locally.
     
     
  • Click Close.
  • Click on the Backup info to get a snapshot of the backup operation performed.
     
     
     
  • Click on the icon at the top right corner of the screen to view the restore records in graphical representation.
