Replicating objects between two Salesforce Orgs

 
The Replication functionality enables you to replicate objects between two Salesforce orgs capable of replication. During the replication session, Vault reads the object from the session being replicated and initiates the replication from the source org to the target org.
 
 

A. Procedure

 
  • Login to Vault account using your user's credentials i.e., username and password.
     
  • Navigate to Replicate > Replicate Now from Vault homepage.
     
     
  • On the next screen, select the source, destination org and the configuration from the drop down field.
     
     
  • Based on the selection at Step 3, the list of backup performed gets fetched. Select the backups that would be replicated and click either "Full Replicate" or "Selective Replicate".
     
     
     

    A. Full Replicate

    This option performs a full replication from the selected backup file(s).
     
  • Select the backups to replicate and click on Full Replicate button.
     
  •  The next screen displays the list of metadata and data objects that will get replicated. You will not have options to select individuals objects as it is full replicate process.
     
  • Enter the Replicate label and click on Replicate Now button.
     
     
     

    B. Selective Replicate

    This option allows you to select specific metadata/data that will get replicated only to the Destination org.
     
  • Select the backups to replicate and click on Selective Replicate button.
     
  • The next screen displays the list of metadata and data objects that will get replicated. From the list of Metadata and Data type components, the user needs to select the components (along with its member) that will get replicated. Click on the down arrow () to view the members of its respective components.
     
     
  • Enter the Replicate label and click on Replicate Now button.
     
     
  • You will be redirected to the Replicate homepage which will show you the progress of the replicate operation recently triggered.
     
     
  • Click on the Replicate Label to view the list of metadata/data being replicated to the org. Click on "Export" to save the restored metadata/data info in .CSV format locally.
     
     
  • Click Export to save the restored metadata/data info in .CSV format locally.
     
     
  • Click Close.
  • Click on the Backup info () to get a snapshot of the backup operation performed.
     
     
     
  • Click on the icon at the top right corner of the screen to view the replicate records in graphical representation performed till date.
